Not that kind of Vixen, you dirty rapscallion.
One of these. It was a Vixen 21 TD. It has a BMW turbodiesel. According to the website, only 367 of the TD models were built.
Anyone on Oppo know more about these things? They’re intriguing.

BMW Turbodiesel, but wheels off an Astro Van?
It’s not a Vixen. It’s a mutt.

Stop fighting back. It is futile, Hondabro. Your distinctiveness will be added to our own. RESISTANCE IS FUTILE

Whoa these really do exist!!
It’s two species — Vixen and Unicorn
Known to me only from BaT. That site has had a couple posted in the last...oh, year or so. It sounded like the RV to have if you care a lot how it drives. Anyway that’s all I know but if crowdsource info is of interest that site is a lead I can offer.
Thank you for posting this one :)

It is a total mutt - BMW engine, Renault manual transmission, and a whole bunch of GM G-van parts for suspension.

All I know is those wheels are off a 2wd GMT-400 truck, and Astro/Safaris of the same era.

I saw one once in a Walmart parking lot in upstate New York, of all places, only I’ve ever spotting in the wild, but always found them fascinating. They were supposed to be the motorhome for people that enjoy driving. I mean, there’s a strict limit to how well a giant house on wheels is going to handle, but the Vixen was unique in that a serious effort was made to improve handling. Maybe make it drive more like a large van than a bus.

These have a pretty loyal (if small) following in the US, which keeps prices pretty healthy, I recall looking at them a few years ago and a well kept one went for high teens. So I bet at this point you can find them for lower prices than most similar condition VW Westfalia’s. They were designed to fit in side a standard size suburban garage (circa 1980's) with standard door opening
